Parents.com Blog Award

So these past couple of week have been tough...I'm sure yucky mom hormones and a tremendous lack of sleep having absolutely NOTHING to do with it.

I'll blame it on no longer blogging every day. Perhaps that kept me a bit more sane in the month of October. Who's to know?

Anyway, you can understand my excitement and huge boost to my dramatically slipping blog ego when I opened my email this morning and realized that this humble blog is a winner in this years Parents.com best blog awards.

If you can remember way back when I asked you to vote for me...

It turns out that I didn't get enough votes to win, but I did win the editor's pick for best Special Needs Blog (each category has two winners). My blog will be featured and have an excerpt published in the March 2012 Parents Magazine issue...

which means free book publicity and some HUGE encouragement needed for this bloggin' mommy whose attitude was starting to be "who cares about my little blog" -once again hormones of course NOT involved.

So a big THANK YOU to all of those who voted for me (even though that's not the part that I won) I appreciate all of you SO MUCH!

and a big THANK YOU for continuing to read and leave me sweet comments....

and to those with two kids under 2...when does this fog lift...when will I stop turning on the shower to warm up when I meant to start filling Addison's bath...when will I stop putting away refrigerator items in the pantry cupboard...when will I always remember my kids names...and when will I sleep again????

  15. THAT IS AWESOME DEANNA!!!! YAYYY!!!!
I'm glad to see someone in our community win something from Parent's magazine since I can't seem to get my baby on the darn cover. lol
The fog will lift. Eventually. But you better get used to being tired. I've been chronically exhausted for 13 years. ;)

  16. That is an awesome award and recognition!! Sounds like it came at just the right time for you.

As a mom of 7 in 10 years....you get used to the fog. :) Ask your parents & your in-laws...they'll probably tell you the fog lifted after the last one left home.

  20. I think winning the editor's pick award is even better than winning a most-votes award - anyone with a lot of online clout can get people to vote, no matter if their blog is good or not, but you can have the satisfaction that yours really is objectively good!
So, congrats to you! And keep up the writing!

  21. Congratulations :) First, I went to college with Aaron, fyi. Small world. Anyway, I have two under 2 (for 2 weeks they were both under 1, but my youngest was still in the hospital - born 10 weeks early - so I wasn't home with both of them under 1) and for 2 weeks every year I'll have kids with the same age. Fun times. My youngest is 4 months and my oldest is 15.5 months, and I am just now, in the last week, starting to sleep again. My son slept thru the night at 8 weeks, my daughter at 4 months. Which is about right, if you consider she was born 2+ months early. THere's the occasional getting up at night, but no more feedings at night. WOOHOO! It'll get better. I love the honesty of your blog, and I hope this book does all you're hoping and more for you.
