Running in Circles

When Addison got up this morning, the first thing she did was to check out what Mommy wrote about her on the blog while she was peacefully sleeping last night. Mostly she approves of the descriptions and writings, but this morning, she was appalled that I would suggest that she could not run in circles like this other girl. Why of course she could run in circles she told me with emphatic BABAs, head nods and liberal hair pulling....so she set off today to prove me wrong. Her competitive spirit is quite fierce.

I present to you: Chubbs McPhee
Note: the thing she kept chasing after? A Klondike wrapper...no judgment...it was Crunch.

One thing Chubbs has taught me more than anything- never stereotype or assume anything about her just because of an extra chromosome...she will set out to prove me wrong...every time.

I stand corrected, yet again....don't think I've ever had a prouder moment. GO CHUBBS! So many things to work on and learn still before she's ready for "real" running in circles, but hey, if you only knew how hard we had to work to get here...you'd be doing a happy dance right alongside me...and Chubbs, of course.

  1. Dearest Chubbs and Mommy: What a wonderful video. Your determination and progress are a gift from God! In His time He will enable you to accomplish all that He has for you. Ours is not to reason why or feel sorry about the rate and pace of the journey that you are on. May we all seek to please Him as we help and encourage you to experience His best for you. Deanna thanks for sharing Chubbs' journey in such a heartfelt way. All my love to you both - Grampa Smith

  3. I love this! It was so much fun to watch her go round and round... apparently I'm easily amused! And a bit jealous. :) While because Claire COULD run in circles like Chubbs, she chooses not too....Maybe I need to move our ottoman to the middle of the floor and bring out the candy wrappers.

  9. She takes those corners like a pro! She knows pretty soon she's going to have a baby to help take care of so she's just getting all this stuff out of the way before he gets here! She'll be brining you diapers and wipes before you know it! :)

Way to go Addison, you are a superstar!!!

  10. I remember one of your posts a couple months back when you wrote about how one of your goals for Addison was for her to be cruising along furniture by the end of summer, and Addisons workers thought maybe that was an unrealistic goal! HA!!! Just look at the kid go!!! Did she ever prove them wrong!! You cannot underestimate this little one, and all along she had a Mother who believed in her and did not think ANYTHING was unrealistic for her daughter! I am so proud of Chubbs and you Deanna!! Seeing this video made me so happy, what a wonderful milestone :)
