When I woke up this morning, my first impulse was to start to feel sorry for myself and think about all of the negative things going on in my life right now. The most pressing- going back to work on Monday. A wise woman once told me (my mother) that when you start to feel the need to complain about your life, it is time to sit down and make a list of everything that you are thankful for and it is amazing how much your perspective changes. You don't have to read my list, this is really more for myself. I thought it would be good to put it in writing. This is not listed in the order of importance, just order that my rather scatterbrained self realized them.

Things that I am thankful for:

1. Addison is alive and is getting better and stronger every day
2. My wonderful husband who is an amazing dad
2. Supportive family- three of which (my mother-in-law, my mother and my sister Andria) are watching Addison for me while I am at work
3. A really great part time job
4. Spring break in two weeks
5. Only 9 weeks of classes until summer break
6. Our health insurance
7. The fact that Addison is no longer in the NICU
8. A beautiful home in which I love to hear the therapists and such refer to as "Addison's house" (-:
9. Friends- including the ones who are far away but still have taken the time to let me know that they are there for me
10. Addison lets us get a full nights sleep
11. That this list is not grammatically aligned but that no one will criticize me for it (-;
12. Coffee, chocolate and long walks with Addison
13. Comfort jeans and some new work clothes
14. A wonderful heavenly Father who has walked us through every step and will continue to do so
15. Cute clothes that many of you have graciously sent for Addison
16. A supportive church family

Ok, this list could go on, but I think I will stop there. I am feeling much more thankful and positively minded and I hear little Miss Addison stirring. I never pass up the opportunity for some Mommy/daughter holding time. I love the smell of a clean baby!

  1. One of the pictures looks like Addison is winking! lol! What an intelligent little girl!

Thanks for reading about my Everything and Nothing. I would love to hear from you!
